A Tradition of Compassion, Vision & Leadership
LSS has long been a beacon of hope and healing. Established in 1920 as the Lutheran Children's Home Finding Society to support "unfortunate girls" and their children, LSS has since expanded its services to address the needs of entire families, including prevention, counseling, and more. LSS has stayed true to its original vision—to acknowledge the pain of human life while fostering healing and wholeness—while exploring new avenues of service throughout the state. Today, LSS of South Dakota serves thousands of people of all ages, races, faiths, and backgrounds.
We've grown, but our focus remains the same: providing a broad continuum of care for children and those who care for them. With our service locations in numerous South Dakota communities, help is never far away.
